The Norwester Program

(Counsellor-In-Training Program)

The Norwester team:

Consists of a group of highly motivated male and female youth who are 16 years of age by or before December 31^st of the year they are a Norwester. Candidates must enjoy working with children and spending a summer out-of-doors on Georgian Bay.

Norwester Program:

A one month long (June 8- July 26) dynamic program involving:

leadership sessions including topics such as: initiative tasks, leadership styles, teaching techniques, group dynamics…

apprentice counselling of campers aged 6-15

apprentice instructing (program areas include Archery, Arts and Crafts, Canoeing, Drama, Ecology, Sports, Kayaking, Swimming, Can-New, Low Ropes, Out Doors)

visit other camps

The Norwester program is for individuals that are interested in working at summer camps. All applicants will be interviewed by the Norwester Directors or Camp Director prior to June 17^th.
